รีวิวสั้นๆจากเมืองนอกครับที่มาhttp://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,8831.0.htmlHey guys,
I got my med1000x about a week ago, so I thought I'd post my little review.
First things first, the package looks like its an iPad/MacBook Pro box. Opening it, the usual things... cable, remote, AC adapter etc.
The mede8er iteself is no longer plastic, its finished in a brushed aluminium and it is a brilliant design. The best part is picking it up: it feels solid, well built and heavy. Installing a hard drive took 5 seconds, its literally a plug and play system. I had the MED500X2 and this is a big improvement (not that there was anything wrong with the X2), just from a convenience perspective. Internal hard drives are now interchangeable with minimal effort.
Turning it on was an experience, the menu loads in no time. Its a lot faster then the X2 was. The menu has a new layout and much more practical if you ask me. I heard its also 'skinable' but I have not played with that yet.
Playback of files: I use my airport express for music streaming, so my file playback is completely limited to movies. I have not played with mp3 files at all.
mkv is played back brilliantly, I can tell you there are noticeable improvements over the X2. The smoothness of playback is flawless, it almost feels that the upscaling (even on 1080p) adds a sharpness to the image. Movies have a 'dreamlike' feel to them.
ISO playback: Here is where I think most people are interested. I only have 1 3D iso file and it played flawlessly. 3D was pulled through almost immediately, and it looked just as good as my PS3 playing the same disc. Infact, I couldn't tell the difference and I compared them by switching between inputs on my AVR.
Handshaking was not a problem and colors were identical to the PS3. I had absolutely no crosstalk, and it was a pleasure to load it up almost instantly instead of using my PS3.
I am very happy with my player, its exactly what I was hoping for.
